" Samuel Rothbort finds beauty in the texture of things. He does not follow the beaten track. We all of us see the beauty of old white farmhouses set in masses of foliage. Doubtless Rothbort also sees the beauty of such scenes, but others have followed that trail of beauty and he still prefers to blaze his own way. His still life is an unconventional study of flowers. He has found beauty in them, not the beauty you would find, not the beauty I would find, but something fresh and new,... and that is why Rothbort's work keeps us interested. "
